Website offers options for revamping courses in Canvas

May 12, 2017 | News, Tips/How-to

Faculty who are looking to make changes to their courses before fall may draw some inspiration from research-based pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning. The Pedagogical Approaches for Teaching and Learning With Canvas website offers information on 19 student-centered approaches — from blogging to collaborative learning to teaching with video — and explains how each can be used in Canvas.

Information is also provided on each approach’s impact on learning, assessment strategies, and relevant technologies.

Stephanie Edel-Malizia, an instructional designer with Teaching and Learning with Technology, authored the resource. She said faculty can pick and choose among the approaches which can be used in face-to-face, online, or blended learning classes.
