To help you become the best Canvas user you can be, Penn State IT Learning and Development is offering two upcoming Brown Bag lunchtime training sessions that you can attend via Zoom from wherever you like.

Canvas Brown Bag: Transition Your Course to a New Semester
Thursday, April 19, 2018
Noon to 1:00 p.m.

Get a faster start preparing for the next semester with this one-hour demonstration, which will outline tasks to complete in your courses at the end of the current semester and beginning of a new semester to make the transition much smoother.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify essential and recommended tasks to complete at the beginning and end of each semester.
  • Explore how-to resources and timelines for transitioning a course from one semester to another.
  • Develop a clear process for managing their course tasks each semester.

Canvas Brown Bag: Empower Your Students to Collaborate Effectively Using Canvas Groups

Canvas Groups is a fantastic collaborative tool for students, but are they getting the most out of it? To help you and your students fully use all of the great Canvas Groups features, this one-hour demonstration will explore Canvas Groups from both student and faculty points of view.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate between the Canvas Group space for students and instructors.
  • Identify how students can use Canvas Group Tools to collaborate with peers.
  • Develop strategies for sharing Group instructions and expectations with students.
  • Monitor student interactions and activity in Groups.
