Adobe Connect access to end in 2019

Nov 14, 2018 | News

On August 16, 2018, Penn State debuted a new conferencing and media management service that replaced Adobe Connect. Zoom and Kaltura combine to create this service, and offer enhanced video conferencing, unlimited media storage, and fast, reliable audio and video streaming. While Zoom and Kaltura are now fully operational, the timeline to retire Adobe Connect is moving forward.

Please note these critical dates regarding Adobe Connect’s departure:

Monday, Dec. 17, 2018

Adobe Connect will be placed in a “read-only” state. At that time, uploading new content or editing existing content will not be available, only viewing of existing media.

Friday, May 17, 2019

Adobe Connect will be retired. At that time, there will no longer be access to the service.

Important information regarding Adobe Connect content

Before Adobe Connect’s retirement, Penn State Enterprise Information Technology will migrate all existing content from the service to Kaltura. This process will not disrupt Adobe Connect’s functionality, and while the migration takes place, all pre-existing recordings will be available through the “My Media” page on Penn State’s MediaSpace.

To aid in the transition to Kaltura, three town hall sessions were hosted earlier this fall. These meetings were recorded and can be viewed in their entirety online.
