There may be several reasons for this:
- Your Canvas access has been interrupted due to non-compliance with COVID-19 testing requirements.
- You are a New Student.
Non-Compliance with COVID-19 Testing Requirements
Your Canvas access has been interrupted due to non-compliance with COVID-19 testing requirements. This interruption of access may negatively impact your grades.
Please be aware that instructors are not required to accommodate your inability to participate in coursework, including taking exams, submitting assignments, and accessing important materials.
Therefore, it is in your best interest to become compliant as soon as possible. Should you choose not to take action to become compliant, the University may initiate student conduct action resulting in sanctions up to and including suspension.
Testing
To regain access to Canvas, you should test immediately. Please visit the appropriate link below for additional information about accessing testing at your campus:

Your Canvas access should be restored within an hour of taking a test, regardless of your campus location. If you need access sooner to immediately complete an exam or upload an assignment, you can contact the COVID-19 Call Center at 814-865-2121 to request emergency access. The Call Center will only grant emergency access after confirming test completion.
Requesting a one-time Grace Period
We understand that life happens, and everyone makes mistakes. As such, each student may be granted one Grace Period during the spring 2022 semester by contacting the COVID-19 Call Center at 814-865-2121. If granted, the Call Center will mark you as compliant for the previous week. You are encouraged to use this opportunity wisely, as it will not be granted more than once. Testing should be your first option.
New Students
You may not have access to your Canvas account until your enrolled courses’ official start date. You will be granted access once your instructor publishes your course.
Please contact your instructor directly to confirm whether your course has been published.
